Philip Lesly papers, 1946-1993.

Papers of Philip Lesly, a prominent Chicago public relations counsel consisting of speeches and writings (some in recorded form); general papers including testimonials, files on the Public Relations Society of America, interviews including one of Edward Bernays, copies of "Managing the Human Climate," a newsletter produced while Lesly was an independent counsel; and promotional materials prepared for clients such as the American Medical Association, the American Music Conference, Armour Co. (Dial Soap), the Association for Modern Banking in Illinois, Canon, the Cereal Institute, Dow Chemicals, IBM, and Quaker Oats. Of special note is "Everything and the Kitchen Sink," which was written by Lesly to promote the centennial of the Crane Co. Photographs received with the papers are in the Name File and the Oversize Name File in the Visual Materials Archive. Career scrapbooks received with the papers have been scheduled for microfilming.
